All About Buoyancy

Monica Zeno
As Director of Admissions, Ms. Zeno guides BASIS Independent McLean families through the student admissions process - including recruitment, application, enrollment, school tours, community outreach, and student testing. Ms. Zeno earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and moved to Virginia after graduating with her Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration from Louisiana State University. Upon receiving her undergraduate degree, she became a college recruiter for the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She went on to teach 5th grade in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which was a life-changing experience for her. After moving to Washington, D.C., she worked as a recruiter for a not-for-profit organization focusing on international education. Ms. Zeno missed the educational environment, which is what attracted her to BASIS Independent McLean. This position has given her the opportunity to combine her two passions: recruiting and education. Her goal is to build a strong sense of community at BASIS Independent McLean. She is looking forward to fostering relationships with current and future BASIS Independent McLean families.
