David Miller

David J. Miller is a professor at Mason’s School of Business and Executive Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. David leads the CIE team and partners in developing curricular and extracurricular opportunities in creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. From clubs and startup trips to a university wide minor and pop up sessions, David works with colleagues across and off campus to provide experiential learning to supplement and extend the classroom. Miller has extensive experience launching and managing new ventures, dating back to the original internet boom, when he left business school to chase the the Internet bubble. His research focuses on high growth ventures created by students at US Colleges and Universities; examples of such ventures include Under Armour, Facebook, Adafruit, and Sweet Green. Miller holds a PhD from Mason, an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, an MSc from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London, and a BA from the University of Michigan.
